In M. Schei Shoe and Clothing Store, established in 1927, “employees” really notice you.
Today, most stores and shopping centers are organized and designed with one goal: To push sales, and earn as much money as possible in the shortest possible time. The store staff is dancing around as faceless shadows and loses interest in you the minute you have paid.
This is not the case when it comes to M. Schei Shoe and Clothing Store (Norwegian name: M. Schei sko og manufaktur). Ever since the establishment 5th October 1927, time has stood still in the store located in the town of Steinkjer, Central Norway.
The interior is from the 1950s, and you find shoes, underwear, socks, hats and work clothing on display together with shoe boxes stacked from floor to ceiling.
The store has since its inception been run as a family business, and the friendly staff have plenty of time to all customers. ThorNews suggests that you visit the M Schei sko og manufaktur if you happen to be in the Steinkjer area.
