In Honor of Autumn

Forests on fire
flames into the sky
reflected in the sea

facing the wind
trees shaking leaves
make orange-red beds

light is lower
disappears behind mountains
buried in ravines

salmon in streams
mackerel in fjords
gone into deep waters

frost smoke over marshes
deer with calves
a fox changing costume
