’The Danish Poet’ is a animated short film written, directed, and animated by Torill Kove and narrated by the great Liv Ullmann, the beloved muse of Bergman.
In the film we follow Kaspar, a Danish poet who has run out of ideas. He travels to Norway to meet his role model, Sigrid Undset.
The film had its premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2006, and since its premiere it has received numerous international awards. The film is produced by Lise Fearnley at Mikrofilm, in cooperation with the National Film Board of Canada.
In 2000, Torill Kove also was Oscar-nominated for her previous short film, ‘My Grandmother Ironed the King’s Shirts’.
