Norway’s Meteorological Institute has described hurricane Dagmar, which ripped across Norway, Sweden and central Finland on Christmas Day as possibly the third worst windstorm to strike the country in the past 50 years.
The winter storm produced gusts reaching 145 mph and eventually dissipated on 27 December.
Dagmar has caused limited disruption to oil and gas output in the Nordic region, according to catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide.
But on shore, the hurricane made considerable damage.
